About this project
In 2024 the Vista Ridge Metropolitan District repaired and replaced damaged sidewalk and trail sections throughout the neighborhood, working street by street in numbered phases (Alpine, Sheridan, Skyline, Hickory, Ridge View, the community trail, Vista Parkway, Sunset, Primrose and Mountain View). The progress reports below show, panel by panel, what was completed each week.
Timeline
- Aug 24, 2023: The Board reviewed a sidewalk repair inventory and fencing repair estimates.
- Nov 30, 2023: Sidewalk and pathway repair bids of about $400,000 were reviewed; the Board sent the repairs out to bid and asked whether Conservation Trust Fund money could be used.
- Jan 25, 2024: The Board awarded the contract to low bidder RCD Construction, Inc. for $387,556.85.
- Feb 26 – Mar 25, 2024: Weekly progress reports: Phase 1 complete (except change-order trail sections), then Phases 2, 3 and the Skyline, Hickory and Mountain View sections.
- Apr 8, 2024: About 73% complete. Change Order No. 1 extended the completion date by three days for weather; turf damage had to be remediated before retainage was released.
- Apr 25, 2024: Change Order No. 2 ($18,028.42) for ADA pedestrian ramps required by Town of Erie code, and a proposal for additional trail work including two trench drains.
- May 20–23, 2024: The last progress report shows Vista Parkway complete; Change Order No. 3 ($50,000.34) covered north trail and drainage work.
- Mar 27, 2025: An insurance pool safety grant of $6,946.15 offset the cost of truncated domes (the textured ramp plates) from the 2024 repairs.
