Vista Ridge lies entirely within the Town of Erie, a home-rule municipality governed by a Town Council (a Mayor, a Mayor Pro Tem and five Councilmembers) with a Town Manager running day-to-day operations. The Town owns and maintains the streets in Vista Ridge, which were transferred to it by the Metro District, and owns most of the neighborhood's landscape tracts (maintained by the Metro District).

- ActiveTown of Erie Alpine Drive & Primrose Lane Traffic Calming (NSMP) Jun 2025 – present A Town of Erie project under its Neighborhood Speed Management Program to calm traffic on Alpine Drive (west of Hamilton Road) and Primrose Lane. After an August 2026 resident vote, the Town plans to install five speed bumps in October 2026; the locations are already marked on the road.
- ActiveTown of Erie Vista Parkway Improvements and Street Repaving 2024 – present A Town of Erie project making Vista Parkway safer: crosswalks consolidated at intersections with push-button signals, raised medians at the roundabouts, a protected bike lane, and a planned change from five lanes to three.
